Francois Chatel - 28th February 1880: sentenced to 6 weeks imprisonment and hard labour, and banished from the Island for 5 years, along with his co-accused Armand Benest, (2 months & 5 years) for stealing farm produce. (ref: British Press Almanac- 1881 page 202
